We are currently taking orders for 1/2 or whole pigs. The price this year is :
$6.85/lb for 1/2 pig
$6.40/lb whole pig
Total amount due based on pounds of “hanging weight.”
$3/lb additional for smoking/curing (bacon/hams)
$250 deposit required.

How much meat would I get?
See my post describing the cuts and quantities you can expect if you buy a half or whole pig.
When can I pick it up?
The meat will be frozen and available for pickup on the farm in late October, 2011. We can also get the ham, shoulder, and bacon smoked for an additional $3.00/lb. We use the highly acclaimed Vermont Smoke and Cure to do the smoking, because they use natural ingredients and produce a nitrite-free product. We’ve been very happy with the results they produce for us, and think it’s worth the drive.

*Hanging weight is the slaughter weight of the pig ‘on the hook’, before it is butchered into individual cuts. Expect to loose 10 – 20 lbs of weight per half pig between the hanging weight and finished cuts.
